And, although this might be counter-intuitive for some folks, the more experimental the project, the more important to put it into some form of source control.</p> <p>I have ended up going back to code a couple years later and adopting an "inefficient" algorithm that I had originally optimized out because the underlying systems had become so much more efficient that it was actually faster than my customized hand-tweaked algorithm</p> I couldn’t agree more.
